Children

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”  ~Matthew 19:14

We here at Calvary Chapel Santa Cruz understand the Lord’s heart for His precious lambs, and we place a high priority on ministering to the children He has entrusted into our care.

The Children’s ministry offers classes for nursery through 5th grade, teaching God’s Word through studies, activities, and worship.
The Children’s Ministry meets during all regular service times, offering ministries for children in our beautiful “Promised Land” children’s ministry suite:

Nursery
Our infants and toddlers (Birth – 3 years) meet in our specially prepared “Ein Gedi” nursery rooms, with age-appropriate learning centers.   A quiet-room for sleeping infants is also available.

Preschool
Our Preschool children meet in the “Bethlehem” room for instruction in the Word, worship, crafts, and fun!

Elementary School
Our Elementary aged kids meet during our services in the following rooms for instruction in the Word, worship, crafts, and fun!.
- Our Kindergarten and 2st grade children meet in the “Joppa” room.
- Our 2nd and 3rd grade children meet in the “Mount Hermon” room.
- Our 3rd through 5th grade children meet in the “Dead Sea” room.

Children in each of these grade levels should be dropped-off and signed-in before service starts.  Our 2nd-5th grade students then join the adults in the main service for our corporate worship time, sitting and worshiping together as a class with their teachers.

If you need help in finding the proper location, or the class that is best suited for your child, please see one of the Service Coordinators in the Promised Land suite before service or immediately following dismissal of the children. We are here to work with you to find a class where your child is comfortable.

If your child is hesitant to join a Sunday School class on your first visit, we suggest that you go with your child and stay in the class until he or she is comfortable there. We find that children are fed the Word of God better when it is taught at their level.
