LifeGroups

LifeGroups provide opportunities for believers to “do life” together.

“As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend.”
Proverbs 27:17

These LifeGroups meet regularly in homes and are great connection points outside of main church services.  They provide an environment where people are able to cultivate meaningful Christian relationships.

What Are They?
LifeGroups are an important part of our life together here at Calvary Chapel Santa Cruz.  They meet regularly in homes and are great connection points outside main church services.  They provide an environment where people are able to cultivate meaningful Christian relationships, helping to build-up individuals as they grow in maturity and fruitfulness in Christ.  (Hebrews 3:12-13; 10:24-25)

Why Do We Need Them?

In a church, it is easy sometimes to get lost in the crowd, fall through the cracks, and slide out the backdoor.  It’s possible for people to come to church regularly and still miss the vital aspect of relationship.  They help to offer more specific and intimate ministry and opportunity which is difficult to foster during our corporate worship times.

How Do They Operate?

Each group is structured to operate independently, and to reflect and carry-out the unique vision of the group’s leaders.  The groups meet at different intervals, times, and locations throughout the month, and are open to all.  The study focus of each group is different – one may focus each week on the exposition of a specific passage of Scripture, while another works thematically through the Word, while still another might study systematically through a book on Christian living or a particular aspect of discipleship.

Along with these many aspects of diversity among the groups, you will also find an equal amount of unity shared by all of the groups.  Each group will provide a safe and intimate environment, opportunities for individuals to contribute and to share their perspectives, as well as share their lives with one another.  The groups will provide ministry opportunity both internally, as well as externally as the group reaches out in a purposeful way together in a specific ministry area.

How Do I Get Involved
Prayerfully consider the different LifeGroups that are available.  Make contact, possibly, with the leaders of the groups to determine which group might be the best fit for you and your family.   Visit one or more of the groups and ask the Lord to guide you as you seek His will for your life and where you can “plug-in”, not only that you might be ministered-to, but so that you can minister the love of Jesus one to another.  Once you’ve found a group, purpose to commit and contribute!

We are confident that the Lord desires to do a great and fresh work both in and through these groups and we are expectant and eager to watch Him work in His church here in Santa Cruz.
